Peaceful Days-A new cute, cozy game!

A little information

For many cozy fans, Stardew Valley is everything...but what if I were to tell you that there is a brand-new cozy game that is, in my opinion, much more darling? Peaceful Days is a new farming sim game that was released on November 6th, 2025. This game has been in development for 6 years prior, and it has finally reached launch and patch 1.0. I don't have much time in it currently, due to the 2v8 game mode coming back to Dead by Daylight, but this game has had me hooked since I tested out the demo. The developer is Nhat Nguyen, and they are quite remarkable. They are a solo developer who is going through some medical issues and wants to use this adorable game to help treat their kidney disease. I think that this game is something truly special. So much love and hard work have gone into this game.

Store Page

Here is the store page on Steam. As you can see, there are many things in the game to offer. It feels very reminiscent of various farming sims, but with anything, inspiration is what creates new and fresh ideas. When I had tried out the demo, I was instantly wowed by the quality of life features that I desperately wanted in other games, such as Stardew Valley, Fields of Mistria, and Sunhaven. When I bought the game, it was still in Early Release, and at the time, the game was 10 USD. Since its release, the price has gone up. On release, the price was supposed to be $16.99 for a 15% discount; however, due to Steam, they were not able to implement the discount since the game hadn't been out for 30 days. Nguyen had to manually input the price. The full price for the game is $19.99, which in today's economy is cheap for a game.  While many would have been upset about the price rise, it is important to understand that building a game takes a lot of time and resources, and I'm sure battling a kidney disease makes it harder. I currently have 2 hours in the game, and I am absolutely in love with it.

Quality of Life

As I mentioned above, Peaceful Days offers various QOL features that I wish were in other games. One of my main favorites is the ability to track an NPC that I have a quest for or just want to stalk because let's face it...I have issues. Each tab in the menu can be found using the ESC button and then flipped through either by clicking or by using Q or R. Since I do not have a controller, which is the best for this game, I rely on these buttons. The map is very easy to remember, and each building and NPC has so much character. There is so much diversity that it feels like absolutely no one would feel left out. That being said, I would love to see a Native American character in a farming sim game. It would be so nice to have representation. Aside from the map, my other favorite QOL is the ability to see the calendar. In most games that I have played, the calendar is on a board inside the town, and it is always a hassle to remember what day is what if I don't need to go to town. Having the ability to just hit ESC and flip through the tabs is amazing. It shows birthdays and festivals, which I am super grateful for.

Fishing

Another thing about this game that I really like is fishing. Fishing is a pretty straightforward process. You go down to the docks, buy some bait, and a fishing rod. One of the things that I like about it is the ability to turn off the minigame if I do not want to do it in the settings. As someone who wants to at least try to use the minigame before I mod my games to skip them, I gave it a whirl and was shocked at first. I had no idea what I was doing, but I figured it out by accident on my second attempt. The minigame is adorably designed, and it wants you to hold the MB1 button and use the WASD keys to move the tile that needs to connect to the fish.

You want to keep the fish in the square to fill up the bar in order to catch the fish. I find fishing relaxing in these types of games (except in Stardew Valley...Why is it so hard?!). So, you can already tell that I am going to be fishing as much as I can in order to make money for my farm and to get animals.

Crops

Farming is as easy as 1, 2, 3. You get a hoe, a sickle, a watering can, and sometimes an axe, hammer, or pickaxe. From what I have seen so far, you get a hammer instead of a pickaxe, which I like much better because hammers are superior in every way. In the tutorial of the game, you are led to your field and are asked to plant some carrot seeds. The field is massive, and there are endless possibilities that can be on your farm that I have yet to discover. If I am being honest, farming may be easier with a controller, as when doing it by mouse, it feels a little disconnected in a way. I'm not too great at words or explaining what I mean, but I can try. Sometimes, the square border doesn't sync to where I am looking, and I have to reposition myself in order to do the task that I am attempting to do. It's a minor thing and really isn't worth a patch. I was on my farm and was about to water my carrots and flowers that I had purchased, when I noticed one of the NPCs in my field gushing about flowers. It caught me off guard at first, but I found it truly adorable.

Another aspect that I find charming and unique is that the inside of our house has the capability of power, but there is no electricity hooked up to the house. The light switch is even hidden behind an adorable plant. You can open and close the curtains on the windows, and it does bring in a little light as well! I love that in order to light the fireplace, you actually need to go and get the resources for it. You have to chop wood and gather coal to light it up.
Here you can see in this screenshot what the inside of the house looks like. I haven't explored the game far enough to see if there are any decorations or ways to customize the house yet. I really hope that there is, as it is a feature in most farming sims that I take a lot of thought and effort into.

Dating

I haven't made it far in the game yet...I feel like a broken record by saying that, but the NPCs are all wholesome and adorable. Each one is diverse in culture and personality, so it's hard to choose! Not really, I have already chosen who I am going to pursue in the game. My main focus is going to be on Tae, the intern at the hospital. I wanted to go for Cheng, but he is regretably not a romanceable option. How can one tell which is the romanceable option and who is not? That is easy! So in the NPC tab of the menu, you can see which ones are dateable by whether they have a birthday or not. Unfortunately for me, Cheng does not have a birthday...

The NPC tab also shows you their likes and dislikes, and you can also track them from here instead of having to search for them in the map. This screenshot shows Alma, who doesn't have a birthday since she is not a romanceable character. Below is Tae, the NPC that I am pursuing in the game. As you can see, he has a birthday, and it even shows the friendship candy that I have already given him. I will admit, I am not sure if it is neutral or if he hates them...but why would he hate a friendship candy, am I right?

For those that are curious....
Here's Cheng...

My review

Previously, I wrote a review about the demo. It was on September 26th, 2025, that I wrote it. At first, when I bought it, I was flabbergasted to find the demo completely different from the actual game. Regrettably, I refunded it that same night...but my boyfriend bought it for me again because I kept talking about the game and that I was so excited to see that Nguyen was adding more to the game. What brought me back was the confirmation of the release date. In my review on Steam, I wrote that the game has a lot of potential and that the demo was absolutely adorable. I kept true to my word and continued to follow it, which is why he bought me it again. I am so glad that I have it once more. I truly believe this game will succeed, and I would like to see it get out there more. Nguyen is such a sweet person from what I have seen in their Discord server, and they try very hard to find fixes for any bugs or bad reviews. This game is already showing Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam, and it is definitely something that fellow cozy lovers should try out.  I plan to play more of it, and if I decide to do YouTube again, I will most likely play the game and try to grow my channel as well as awareness for Peaceful Days. The music is absolutely stunning and beautiful, and I love the amount of effort in this game. There is more than meets the eye with this one. So much to be explored and to tap into. The story is already hooking me, and I can't wait to discover more. I will be uploading a life update soon. Things have been hectic and busy, but until then...Good night, and don't forget to water your crops!
