Life Update 3

Image
This update is a small one. There hasn't been anything too exciting to upload. On 10/22, I had an appointment with my rheumatologist, and so I spent the day with my family down in Edmond. I had a blast with them. We started the day with my aunt's appointment, and so while they were in the doctor's office, I was out in the car watching Chopped on my phone. It was relaxing. My cousin was asleep, it was quiet, and the windows were down during a nice breeze. While watching it, I was working on my embroidery project for my boyfriend's birthday gift (Finished product will be uploaded once I'm done!!).  After at least three episodes, they finally come out of the building and back into the car. We had some time to kill, and we went to a cute little store that is like Dollar Tree and Five Below had a baby. We went into Daiso, and I loved seeing my aunt's reactions to the store. I got a new embroidery hoop at the store, and it was a good time. Then we had to drive to m...

Death's Obsession Review

Image
My Initial Thoughts When I first heard of this book, it was on Instagram. I had been hunting the book title down since the video that I had originally saw it on didn't show the title of the book and I became obsessed with finding it. I mean come on, what girl doesn't fantasize about the grim reaper , right? (Sorry darling!) The cover immediately drew me in because the crow is beautiful and symbolic to death itself. I was surprised at first by the fact that it was only 13 chapters but got over it when I remembered that I read Zane: Were-Zoo Book One. I read this book in a day, because dark romance and stalker... I'm normal.... Anyway, I started it late September 20th and into September 21st .  About the book Death did not take Lilith's soul when she was supposed to die. He constantly reminds her that she is his . Death was the one that kept her going and alive, leaving her treats, gifts, letters, and much more. Death stalks her, watching her sleep, and marking her....

Zane: Were-Zoo Book One Review

Image
My Initial Thoughts This book has been in my Kindle library for quite some time. Truthfully, I don't remember when it arrived. My aunt and I share libraries, so we can read each other's books. What initially brought me to this book was that it was a paranormal romance and it started with a " Z ", which was perfect for my reading challenge. My aunt has read books from R.E. Butler before and said that they were a good author. She reads more than I do, and at a faster rate. She's finished the challenge before the end of the year already, whereas I am falling behind.  So, I started this book around May 13th , and ended up finishing it in September 11 ... I know... I take forever.  About the book Zane is a gorilla shifter that lives in a zoo called "Amazing Adventures Safari Park" and each of the animals and staff are shifters that have been living in secret from humans. His life starts to get mundane and boring and his primary objective is to find a mate....

Hooked (Never After #1) Review

Image
My Initial Thoughts  I have had this book on my shelf for quite a while, and started to read it around May 1st . I set it down for a while due to wanting to read other books first. I know...Priorities. What drew me to this book was that it was a dark romance, which is my favorite genre of romance. I was interested in the Peter Pan retelling, and let me tell you, this book had some twists and turns that had me gasping in real life. I kept telling myself that I was going to read it, and then I was going to put it under the H category of the book challenge that I am working on, but I ended up buying another book that started with an H. So instead, this book became my one-word title category . It took me until September 12th to finally finish the book and write the review the same day. Shocking right?! At the time of reading this book, I was also reading five or six other books. It was a mess...a beautiful, romantic, twisted mess.  About the book James, aka Hook, always had one ...

A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon Review

Image
My Initial Thoughts I first saw this book at Half Price Bookstore in OKC and hesitated on buying it. The cover initially didn't look promising. Growing up, we are taught to " Never judge a book by its cover ," but as readers, is it not one of the first things we do to determine if we want to check the synopsis? Now, as I have said, I originally slept on this book. Somewhere in May, specifically on May 11th , my best friend and I went to the library to find a book (or in my case...books...) to read. As I was browsing the app, I ended up typing the book into the search since I couldn't get it out of my mind for some reason. I was overjoyed when the library had it. I ended up checking it out with at least five other books. I ended up DNFing those other books, due to overwhelming myself... I started reading A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon immediately. I was hooked on the first page. I could not put down the book. When I tell you that this book had me laugh...

Giveaway Book Received!

Image
Good morning! On Sunday, my book that I won in a giveaway on Goodreads has finally came in. I entered it in August and was told it would be 8-10 weeks for it to come in. I am a very impatient person so I was always on the lookout for it to show up and I tried not to think of it for a while. Its not the first book that I have won but it had been a while since I won a book.  Anyway, it's finally here and I plan to read it and review it soon. I might pause my challenge just to read it and get the review out before it's official release if it's not released already. Either way, it looks interesting and a review will happen once it's read (if I don't get distracted by my TBR!)

Book Challenge Progress

Image
I love to read, but I'm not as fast a reader as I used to be in school. It makes me sad. This year, I'm doing a reading challenge, and unfortunately, my slow reading has caught up to me. It is October, and I barely made progress, it feels! My ADHD also makes it hard to focus on a singular book. I am reading more books at once, depending on my mood. So below is the challenge, the books I have planned for them (ignore my chicken scratch!), my progress (I used Canva to make it!), and a collage of books that I'm currently reading! At some point, I should make a post about my TBR and books I want on my shelf.      Till then, I'm putting a couple of sequels and other books on hold until I crack down and focus and enjoy my challenge. I'm definitely being more lenient with myself than I should, and that's ok! The goal was to get me to reread more, and it's working!

Life update 2

Image
This morning, my best friend and I went to the bookstore as planned! We got up super early to get breakfast, and it was so nice. It's been a while since we sat at a diner or restaurant together, and I missed it. I ordered a ham steak with hash browns and scrambled eggs, some homemade raisin toast, and coffee with water. I liked all of it but the toast. I'm sorry... It was just really dry and needed some flavor.  After we paid, we went straight to the bookstore. When we got there, a line and people were sitting in chairs! We got a little worried because we thought it was the first 15 people that showed up that got the goodie bag, but thankfully, it was the first 15 purchases!! I should've gotten pictures of the store because it was adorable, and it had everything we needed. I bought a book from my TBR- "Leave Me Behind" by K.M. Moronova, and in the bag, we got a free book as well. It looks to be a second-chance romance book!  This is everyth...

Life update

Today, my best friend of many years came over for a sleepover! We've been having sleepovers since middle school, when we met. She is one of the few people who, if anything were to happen and she's not in my life anymore, I'd be truly devastated. Anyway, she came over and we chatted for a while, vibed to K-pop as we always do, and then we made some progress on a horror game that we haven't played since Thanksgiving of last year. The game we are playing is Remothered: Tormented Fathers.  Today, which is Saturday the 11th, is a fun day lined up. We are getting up soon to get ready, and then we are going to a coffeehouse across from a bookstore that is opening up in our city of Oklahoma. Yes, I'm an Oklahoman! We have been watching the bookstore for some time now, and today is the grand opening! I'm so excited! After the bookstore, the poor thing is going out of town, and so I'm going to be house-sitting. I can't wait for it, because I love her cats ...

A Nice Breakfast

Image
Sometimes it's easy to forget that someone cares about you. My brother, for instance, never messages me or calls. I went over to his and his fiancée's house for breakfast with my family. It was nice, and I actually enjoyed myself, despite hating being in social situations like that. As we were getting ready to eat the food, he surprised my aunt and me with containers of one of my favorite snacks- dark chocolate espresso beans!  I was so excited! I felt like that character from the Lord of the Rings franchise that coveted the ring and called it "his precious". I am aware the character has a name. I know the name. I just can't spell it. Bear with me. Anyway, I was so excited about it. I cannot be trusted to have them. Then, before we were getting ready to leave, his fiancée gave me a candle and told me that it was supposed to be in the care package that they had made for me when I got out of my surgery in September. It really made my day because I have been wanting...

Moogle Post

Image
I love embroidery, and I am still fairly new at it. I don't know a lot of techniques and stitches, but I am learning! Often, I will go to YouTube for learning because it is easier for me to learn by watching and doing than it is for me to read and do it. That being said, I am always open to learn more. I made this for one of my three best friends. Her birthday is in November, and unfortunately, she knew about this gift since I was really proud of it and wanted to share it.  She loves FFXIV, so do I. I wanted to make her main class, but she plays so many that I don't remember which is truly her favorite! I was also tossing around ideas for her favorite anime, but then I thought...Why not a moogle? So, here it is! I used the back stitch for the outline, but I'm wondering if I should outline after I fill it in? Again, I'm still learning!! For the wings, I wanted to do the brick style, but in my opinion, it's harder to do with black floss. The body of white is m...

Hi there! I'm Jazzmine, but you can call me Dawolfwife or Dalupusregina. My close friends call me Jazz or Jazzy.  Welcome to my blog. Here you can expect life updates, crafting and embroidery, book reviews, TTRPGs, and game reviews. I love a great deal of things and have many interests, but I want to try to showcase the things I really love. I am an introverted person and not good in social settings or on social media, but the attempt is here. I want to get better, not just for me, but for the people I care about. I hope that you enjoy your stay, and you can find me on my links on the side of the blog.  Have a nice day!
